Hello, I'm Joanne...
Regardless of which “hat” I’m wearing, my mission is to share my unique view of the
world through words and pictures in order to encourage others to confidently embrace their own individual talents.
As an avid photographer, my newest project is to share my fine art images from my travels with those who want to bring their own love of travel into their homes and offices.
Joanne is a passionate believer in amplifying the distinctive voices and ideas women have in the world. Her most recent book, Love Her, Love Her Not: The Hillary Paradox, is a prime example of that. Her insights into the power of online women and mothers led her to become one of the first journalists to shine a light on their rising political power in her first book, Mothers of Intention: How Women and Social Media are Revolutionizing Politics in America.
Joanne is a widely published opinion journalist, who is also a sought-after TV/radio political commentator known for her common-sense views. An acknowledged expert on women and politics, Joanne has been a keynote speaker at a variety of conferences and events, including EMILY’s List, Netroots Nation, South by Southwest, and more. She received the Advocacy Innovator Award from Campaigns & Elections Magazine in 2013 for her original research on the political influence of women online. She also received the Forty Over 40 Innovator Award in 2014 for her work promoting women’s political views at her former online magazine, The Broad Side.
Photography
I have always been a passionate photographer, from the time my grandparents gave me a Kodak Instamatic camera through days of 35 mm film through today’s digital formats, and even the iPhone. As I have traveled with my family, I always have a camera with me to record beautiful scenes, as well as candid street photography moments. Writing
I am a nationally recognized opinion writer and media commentator, as well as an attorney and an award-winning author. I have written two Amazon-bestselling books about how everyday women express themselves about important political and societal issues, especially with online tools and social media. My writing has been published in USA Today, the Washington Post, The Hill, the San Francisco Chronicle, and more. My on-air commentary has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, BBC, and more.
