Rachel likes to read a book called Dr. Dog.

It’s an especially hilarious book for first-graders by Babette Cole about a dog who is the physician for a family who doesn’t seem to know a lot about staying healthy. As R. likes to quote from the book, “Never scratch your bum and suck your thumb!”

Just as Babette Cole knows how to dispense apt medical advice for the elementary school crowd, my friend CrankMama has tackled the little-talked-about condition I am afraid many of us have, but are reluctant to acknowledge, called “Failure to Flourish.”

I didn’t realize she had a medical background (!), but she clearly has figured out what is ailing many of us in the ‘what’s up with my marriage’ category and has a great prescription!

It’s definitely worth checking out and taking to heart!

Thanks, CrankMama!

CM, You’re an inspiration to me with you writing and your wit. I know we haven’t met, but if it’s possible, I consider you a friend because your writing touches me and your sensibilities are so close to my own!
