Even though I try my best to keep my advancing age a well-guarded secret, especially on this blog, it’s no secret that I am “over 40.”
I’ve got no problem with that. I became a mother after 40. I finally figured out my calling in life after 40.
“After 40″ is pretty good in my book.
So, of course, I have to subscribe to a magazine for us gals in the after 40 club.
Today, one of their online stories had a catchy title, “This is Your Brain on Menopause.”
I’d like to think that those nights when I toss the comforter off is just because I forgot to set the thermostat back, but I know that since “peri” has made some appearances, “meno” can’t be far behind. So I clicked over to take a quick look.
And then I saw this.
What the ….?!?!?
They may be “celebrating” women over 40, but I’m not ready to be included in this party just yet, thank you very much.
And I have to say, if advertisers like these think us moms of a certain age are in need of this extra assurance, well, I’m going to have to take my magazine addiction, er, I mean business, elsewhere!
P.S., Kristen, please don’t let these be the next products we’re testing!

Oh my. I can’t imagine who they think their target market is!
If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been getting invitations to join AARP since I was 25. It was kind of funny for awhile, but I imagine it won’t be soon….
