Why are Katie Couric’s ratings going down, and not up, at the CBS Evening News?
CBS President Les Moonves is quoted in Mediaweek as “blaming the loss of audience on the defection of older men who don’t want to watch a female news anchor.”
If men are the key to the Democrats winning the White House back in November, then Hillary Clinton is doomed. If guys don’t like or trust hearing a story about a dog who helped a boy to speak, let alone oil prices, our crumbling economy or the war from a woman, what hope is there that they will elect one who would actually make decisions about those things? (Except for the dog).
I know there are many voices out there who still believe that the sexism argument in this presidential contest doesn’t have legs, but if Katie (and her gams) can’t persuade the guys that it’s OK to trust a woman in authority, what hope does any woman, now or in the future, have when it comes to the Oval Office?
There’s only one solution — there are more women in this country than men. That means we have more votes. One of these days we’re going to have to use them. I don’t like arguing that we ought to vote for the woman just because we wear skirts.
But I’m really tired of old guys like Les Moonves blaming their bad news on a woman just because she’s a woman.

Sure, let’s blame women on the overall decline of network news viewership. Could it be that it has become more entertainment than real news? Oh no – it’s got to be Katie!
What a wienie if I say so myself…
Think I’ll get my news from other sources – NBC is still pretty good and I love to watch Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

what a dick. seriously. Like impromptublogger said – there’re a zillion reasons why ratings might decline (including reasons to do with Katie) that have nothing do with her gender.
did I say? DICK>
