Joy Behar of The View is no shrinking violet. That’s one reason I like her. I’m not a big fan of The View, but I enjoy when she appears on Larry King, she tells it like it is and I like that in anyone talking about politics!
Now, I really think Joy should be getting in on the political commentary after she had a little daytime smack down with John McCain over his political ads and their lies.
Yeah, she used the ‘L’ word.
I love that a post-menopausal woman has the chutzpah to call ‘em as she sees ‘em. Sure, the Obama campaign and political commentators talk about John McCain’s misrepresentations, gaffes, moments where he “misspeaks.” But when was the last time you actually heard someone say a candidate was a liar when he or she deserved it because they really were lieing?
If the shoe fits, I say it’s fair game. Why mince words and try to be polite, when the future of the country is at stake?
I want Joy to get an invitation to be a questioner to at least one debate. Then maybe we’d get some real answers.

Oh, I have so many things to say about this, so many, many things. I really loved when Joy said she understands because he wants to get elected.
John McCain knows that pig ad and that kindergarten ad is bullshit.
I’d watch a debate moderated by Joy.

The saddest thing about the lies is that after 200+ years of democracy, this is still the best we can do and these people, I guess, are the best options we can come up with and that is so pathetic. Small wonder are credibility in the world has fallen so low.
Worse is that there are people in our country dumb enough, or blind enough, to buy the lies and spread them.

Joy has guts. having interviewed people for a living it is MUCH harder than it looks to say something like that to someone’s face. easier to just get along.
She’s always been the best of the bunch. That Sherry is useless.

If it wasn’t for Joy, I wouldn’t be able to watch that show at all. I don’t know how she manages to sit there day after day and refrain from smacking that little twerp Elizabeth in the face.

I can’t stand The View either, but have always loved Joy. I grew up in NY and she reminds me of my mom’s friends. No pretense, no holds barred…

Joy is marvelous and I’ve always thought a lot of Whoopie too. Sherry is an idiot who needs to get an education. She and Elizabeth are both outclassed and outthunk but the others there.

By the short hairs?! LOVE her!

Joy? Thanks Pundit Mom for applauding someone I find repulsive. I remember when Joy (and Meredith and Star) led the “Ban Jane Fonda” move on The View. Maybe you don’t? Maybe you don’t remember how they made Lisa nearly cry on air? Maybe you don’t remember Joy’s very Bush-like remarks and very anti-Vietnamese (not Vietnam War, anti-Vietnamese) remarks?
I think it’s better to know a little about the person before going la-la over them.
Joy smeared my roots. And enjoyed doing so. It’s not any secret outside the White community.

In the past Joy was not my favorite person, but I have to say, the more I have been watching the View lately…the more I like her! She tells it like it is and knows what she is talking about. Elizabeth on the other hand, annoys the hell out of me. She is so close minded and would vote Republican, even if Bart Simpson was running. I love watching Joy put her in her place!

Well, it may be a great idea to invite Joy to the debate–but, if his performance on the View is any indication–we shouldn’t actually expect a straight response to her questions. I watched this video and some more of his interview and I don’t think he directly answered a single question put to him.
I did not find his performance reassuring, that’s for sure. If anything, I’m more scared.
