I admire the honestly and lack of partisanship in your post. I see the comments are leaning from “getting it” to reproaching her to detesting her. Well, get used to Sarah. She is rumored to being given a $7MM advance in a book deal and is “in demand” outside of Alaska. Anyone outside of the Obama echo chamber knows that she is a force in her party and will not be painted into a social conservative corner either.

She will get coaching [voice, diction] and she brush up on her policy creds and so she should. However, she will carefully craft and build an image and expand her considerable “base” in the months and years to come.

I’d agree with you 100% — if she were a senator or representative who didn’t need to be at the office right now. Unfortunately, Sarah Palin has a 365-day-a-year job — that she’s not doing right now. I didn’t vote for her in 2006, but I got her and she’s my governor — and she’s been AWOL since August 29. Once the campaign ended, she made a quick stop in the AK, then headed back out to pursue her ambitions. Meanwhile, no progress has been made on her much-touted (non-existent) gasline, and rural Alaska is buckling under energy costs that would make the average American’s head spin. Personally, I’d like her to get back here and do the job she was hired to do. If Wolf Blitzer and Matt Lauer want to talk to her, they can hop a plane. Alaska’s not going anywhere (well, except for the dozens of Native villages that are going to have to relocate in years to come due to coastal erosion caused by global warming).

I’m old enough to remember Andy Warhol saying that in the future, everyone will get 15 minutes of fame. Now people want more, and Palin is working it just like everyone else. God help us.

Palin will become President in 2012. It is GOD’s WORD and WILL because GOD HERSELF SAID SO! GOD HERSELF will see to it that it happens. Palin is GOD’s CHOSEN ONE, GOD INCARNATE and the LIVING EMBODIMENT OF GOD HERSELF!

I don’t feel sorry for her at all. She brought this on herself.

That said, she .should. take advantage of the opportunities in front of her…if…she has thought them through, and that is a mighty big if I think.

If she were smart, she would stay in Alaska for the next 4 years and immerse herself in political blogs, newspapers, and any way of keeping herself appraised of the way the world is turning. I don’t see that happening.

I see what you’re saying but I’d respect her efforts a lot more if she admitted she does need more experience and said she was going to go ahead and get it. It would indicate she has self-awareness and isn’t completely obtuse. She also needs to practice her ad hoc speaking style…she needs some work!

I don't like her politics much but I dig Sarah Palin. I'm watching her on Larry King right now.

She's got presence. She's got personal power. She's not letting THEM tell her what to do or say. She's gracious under pressure.

Oh and if WE Democrats don't get some GIRL POWER to put up there in 2016 . . . .

I think most of the criticism about Sarah Palin's experience is just "mean girl" jealousy. Women who don't give other women slack.

This from people who voted for Barack Obama instead of Hillary? Me thinks this election wasn't about "experience" if it were we would have seen a McCain-Hillary race.

Oh, and n 8 years she has plenty of time to get "experience." Look at the experience Barack Obama got in 8 years.

I don’t mind her ambition, but I thought she could be a lot less “snarky” about it. She said some awful things during the campaign and stirred up a lot of hate at rallies. Because of that, I can’t feel sorry for her.
