I thought Hillary Clinton was as competent to be President as anyone. But I didn’t think she could win. Now, don’t get me wrong, I drank the Obama Kool-aid a long time ago and I’ve loved him for years, so he would have had my vote anyway. But I know there were others who voted for the candidate that they thought could oust the Republican contender.

Regarding Clinton: I think that women are usually given credit for their abilities as long as the jobs they seek or hold are overseen by men. We can handle great responsibility but not ultimate responsibility according to the playbook as it stands right now.

I think there were a lot of people, especially talking heads, who argued a lot during the campaign that Hillary wasn’t qualified because she lacked actual experience and discounted her Senate years because she was Bill Clinton’s wife. Now those same people are singing her praises.

In regards to your question about Hillary . . . did the people who love her at SoS (like me) think she’d be a BAD president, or did they just prefer another candidate, like, say, Obama? I voted for Obama in the primary, got ticked at some of Hillary’s campaign folks, but I always thought she was pretty amazing, thought she was immensely qualified and hoped Obama would find a good fit for her in his administration if she was willing to join it. So, I don’t know. I also think she won over past critics with her campaign, and grace after losing such a close nomination.
