SpinCycle Thursday — There’s a New POTUS in Town & He Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Coat!

Moms & Politics

So, the ice is sort of melting here, and so is my brain (!), but, as always, there’s lots of good stuff going on to read about:

Can you tweet your Congressman or Senators?

The more I learn about Timothy Geithner, the less I like him.

I agree with Barack Obama on how wimpy the people are in DC when it comes to a little ice and snow, but when you’re the new President, you probably shouldn’t say it out loud. And coats? POTUS don’t need no stinkin’ coats!

If I want red shoes, I’ll save a few bucks and buy them at Target.

There’s less red America? Really? Now THAT’S a dream I don’t want to wake up from!

Stay warm!

LOL! But you guys (liberals and democrats) had no issue accepting him/pushing through his confirmation!

He says he prepared his own taes so we are left with to choices:

    1. He is not smarft enough to correctly flll out his tax returns.

    2. He was cheating on his taxes.

Either scenario should disqualify him from being Treasury Secreary.Plus the IRS notified him 2 years ago and he still didn’t pay up until days before his nomination.

The IRS is the only federal agency where an employee can be fired for not paying his taxes.
What a double standard Geithner is approved and becomes the Sec. of Treasury. IRS employees will be TERMINATED if they do not file their tax return and pay their taxes in full on time. This is a law that was passed in 1998. If an employee makes a math error, their manager is notified and the employee is counseled and a letter goes into their file. So all IRS employees should use Geithner as they example if they REALLY make and HONEST mistake. Same old good ol’ boy network. Makes you wonder what is going to happen in the next 4 years.

I actually disagree about his snow comment. My parents are from chicago and they were shocked about how easily schools are closed here. It was off the cuff and I think that’s why we like him. And Tues. was insane. Wed. I get.

I know. It’s amazing how quick they close schools now adays. I live in Central NY and I don’t remember getting nearly as many snows days as the kids do now.
Give em some gloves, hats, scarfs and boots.

I’ve been included in taxes for longer then I care to acknowledge, both on the individualized side (all my working lifetime!!) and from a legal stand since passing the bar and following tax law. I’ve offered a lot of advice and corrected a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes complete sense. Please carry on the good work – the more people know the better they’ll be armed to cope with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
