And Now for Something Completely Different

Tue, March 17, 2009

I’m ashamed to say this, but I’ve been keeping something from you.

My plans for world domination have expanded and there are a couple of women you may know and love who are accomplices on this mission.

It turns out I have more in common with Devra of Parentopia and Michelle of White Trash Mom than just the whole being addicted to blogging thing.

We’ve all lived in Wichita, Kansas.

Michelle and I actually lived there at the same time AND worked at the same place, but didn’t know each other. Well, maybe we did, but we were REALLY young and even though the liquor laws were pretty restrictive, there was a lot of beer involved, so … let’s just leave it at that.

Wichita takes a lot of flack for not being a very interesting place to live. I do admit it us pretty dern flat there, but the three of us all agree we had a pretty good time there. So, Michelle decided it was time to talk up the Air Capital of the World! Heck, she even convinced Guy Kawasaki that it was a good idea for Alltop!

After all, the first Pizza Hut was in Wichita. And they’ve got the Coleman Lantern Museum! Seriously, there’s some good fun to be had there and the Wichita Research Institute of Blog Fun will make sure you know ALL about it! ;)

As Michelle offered at her place, you can contact any of us on Twitter to further your own research or to talk to us about the Land of Oz!

Yeah. I’m feeling left out. (Oh well. Michelle has said she thinks I’m pretty White Trash too, for living in LA).

There is an awesome science museum there called “Exploration Place” it also has some fabulous community theatre. Hands down, it is one of THE best communities I have ever lived.

My son’s are both Wichitans. (and that means they were both BORN in Wichita, not that they are both Wiccans. This did confuse someone once, who thought they weren’t Jewish but Wiccan. I’m clarifying that my children are in fact Jewish and not Wiccan. Not that there’s anything wrong with THAT.

I tweeted with Guy. I found the site confusing and he offered an assist. I am not finding people there I am looking for though. It needs more categories.

How does one dominate the world from Kansas?
