It's astonishing that women get 6-8 weeks off for maternity leave when most other countries get at least 3 months. Men could never understand how hard it is to recover from a pregnancy/delivery and maintain the household while getting used to caring for a child.<br/><br/>On the white house site, it states what their proposals for expanding FLMA are and it's a good first step. <br/><br/>Some people argue that it's unfair to people that choose not to have children. I think that's a hollow argument... The first integrated students may have been met with guns and bad attitudes, but now it's not even questioned. Most important civil rights battles have first been won in the court and in our laws, and eventually, the shame does follow.
