Being at the beach for a week can be good for a lot of reasons — time with the family, fresh sea air, too many pizzas. But it always gives me time to think about what I’m doing, how I’m spending my time and where to go next.
I have been struggling with a lot of things in terms of how I’m spending my time and what projects I truly believe in. After speaking with one of my favorite inspirational women, I also realized that I need more than just a lot of places in the blogosphere to feed my soul. It’s something that I think I already knew, but Jen Lemen has a way of making you believe that just because something is a little scary, doesn’t mean it won’t be good. Some other friends have been prodding me to embrace my thoughts about a new direction, as well, so it seems that the cosmos might be sending me a message!
I’m staying right here at the new and improved PunditMom, but I think it might be time to cut back on some of the other places I roam! Plus, I’m going to need time to get my a$$ in gear for Mothers of Intention: The Book! Thanks to the wonderful women at Bright Sky Press, I’ve got a lot of work to do between now and the beginning of next year!
And, as some of you know, since the PunditFamily is travelling to China next year for the first time since PunditGirl came home with us as our daughter, I’ve got lots of writing to do to capture those moments, both in blog form and, I hope, as a book, also.
I’m not someone who embraces change and I often have to be dragged into something, even if I feel in my gut that it’s probably best for me. So as I am doing laundry that piled up at the beach and getting ready for BlogHer ’09, I’m approaching this trip with a new agenda. Sure, the parties are great, but I have a feeling that I need to get something more out of this blogging trip — I need to be open to new people, new projects and new avenues that will feed my soul — political and otherwise.
