		<description>You nailed something: I often say that media, politicians and industry have lagged for a long time in realizing the power of women in general and women who blog particularly. Considering we&#039;re more than half the voter, more than half the Internet users, and spend over 80% of the household dollar, it&#039;s very short-sighted.

You&#039;re also right that commercial forces have opened their eyes first. As evidenced by how all over the blogosphere and social media space they are right now. And many of their efforts are well-intentioned and even effective, despite the far greater amount of attention paid to the mis-steps.

Meanwhile the traditional media is so threatened their coverage crosses the line into hyperbole and downright misdirection. And politicians still want to push their message and get what they can from bloggers...not really engage with them and give back.

They&#039;ll catch up, I think. They&#039;ll have to.
