When I tweeted my enthusiasm about this decision, someone asked how I could be excited about a “racist” being confirmed to the Supreme Court. How anyone, no matter how entrenched in their social views, could believe that this woman is a racist is totally beyond me.
As our new Justice Sotomayor says in the video, people saw her — and apparently continue to see her –with “limited eyes.” Today, I hope we’re one step closer to reducing the number of “limited eyes.”
The only “bad” news, is that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is going to have to share the women’s changing area for the “highest court in the land!”

I saw a woman in the background of a rally (on TV news) wearing a t-shirt that said, “I am a Wise Latina.” I wish I could wear one! I’m excited that she’s been confirmed. Our court will be better for her thoughtful participation.
