Thank you so much for bringing Rebekah and this issue to our attention. It's one that really hits home for me, as I nearly was a non-custodial mom myself when my ex and I divorced. I needed to relocate closer to my work and felt it was in the best inte and rest of my kids to remain in their home, with their father who worked at their daycare, to keep their routine as normal as possible. It was a gut wrenching decision on my part and I faced a lot of questions from others. In the end, it worked out that the kids came with me, and I see the circumstances that led to that as such a blessing. But I know the judgment that non-custodial mothers face. Bravo, Rebekah!

I'm now 19 and experiencing being a dad. I must say although it feels good it's still hard. I knew it wouldn't be easy but to be honest, the hard part is having to balance time. My daughter is great and makes managing her never dreadful. -Teen dad

Joanne, thank you so much for these thoughtful words... I'm so honored to be the subject of your Mothers of Intention series, which is so inspiring to me as a mom and activist. You are so supportive and kind, it is really due to my friendship with inspiring women like you that I have been able to also find my voice in the work that I do! <3 XoRebekah

My brother is the custodal parent of his three children. As a mother now myself I've come to realize that his ex-wife isn't the bad mother I originally thought she was. She may have made decisions and choices that I don't agree with but she is still the mother of these children and she is being the best one she can be. She deserves respect and credit for that.

Very good points here. As a single dad, it's always offended me when people think that my ex-wife is a bad mother. She isn't...she's a great mom to my son and her two children from her second marriage.
