Republicans, Women in Politics

dedeIt seems that Sarah Palin has decided that she is not only going to rear her head and peer into Alaska from time to time to keep an eye on Vladimir Putin, but now she can also see New York State from her back yard! (Must be some weird northern lights phenomenon).

I have to assume that’s why she thought she had a right to butt into the special Congressional election in New York State, causing the moderate Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava to drop out.  Even though the GOP AND uber-conservatives John Boehner and Newt Gingrich had endorsed her, that wasn’t good enough for that gal from Wasilla and she started her right-wing drum beat to support a third party candidate who was more in line with the extreme niche of her party.

The sad thing is, it worked.

Apparently, Scozzafava was willing to drop out because the numbers showed she would lose as a result of the efforts of Palin and others.  But Scozzafava wasn’t willing to go gently — the day after she pulled out of the race, she endorsed her one-time Democratic opponent over the Conservative on the ticket (who doesn’t even live in that district) that the GOP is now fawning over, giving the virtual finger to her party leadership.

Palin may think she has a lot of support among Republican women, but I have a feeling that scorned GOP candidates like Scozzafava will have a long memory.  If the new page in the playbook is to descend upon anyone considered to be a “moderate” in the GOP, Palin and her minions may have a lonely time at the next RNC fundraiser.  But that’s OK with me — I’d be happy to have Scozzafava and others like her come over and hang out with us Democrats. I’m sure they’ll have some interesting insight for the 2010 elections!

Well, if Sarah Palin doesn’t “heart” her, then neither do I !!! You really have no comprehension of how many of us there are out here that “heart” Sarah Palin.

Actually, I do know how many people *heart* Sarah Palin and I understand why. I just don’t think she’s good for the country.

Scozzafava is pro-choice and supports gay rights And, I agree, she should go over to the dark side with the Dems.
