As a blogger who happens to be a mother, I get a LOT of E-mails from people trying to promote one product or another. As a blogger who focuses on politics and current events, and their impact on women, I also get a lot of e-mails about this news conference or that legislative effort. As someone who spent years as a journalist and then a couple on the other side of the fence in public affairs, I understand how difficult it is to take even a really important piece of information and pitch it in an enticing, interesting and engaging way.

Even if you don’t agree with what the Recovery & Reinvestment Act is doing, you’ve got to admit this is effective political messaging, especially in light of the things we allow our attention to be focused on these days. You know it’s going to catch people’s interest, and that’s always the hardest step in creating change.
