If you’re headed to Netroots Nation — the annual progressive political/blogger conference, this week, I hope you’ll come by the panel I’m on with a group of amazing women. Our topic?
Why Women are the Key to Future Progressive Election Victories!
On the panel with me are the organizer, Gloria Feldt, the former president of Planned Parenthood, as well as Barbara Lee, an expert on women’s political leadership, Roxanne Conlin who is running for the U.S. Senate in Iowa, Pam Spaulding of Pam’s House Blend blog (I hope she doesn’t mind if I ask for her autograph!) & Maria Teresa Kumar of Voto Latino.
Now if the Dems would listen to what we have to say, maybe we wouldn’t have to worry about whether the House of Representatives tips to the red side this fall! It’s really pretty simple — if politicians would listen to what women want (since we make up more than half of voters!), they’d be in a better position to get elected or stay in the offices they already hold. It’s not rocket science, but, it seems, that so many are stuck in their old-fashioned ways, it doesn’t occur to them to focus on us.
If some of them are hanging around Netroots Nation, I hope they’ll stop in for a little tutorial, as well!
And if you can’t make to Vegas, don’t worry! They’re livestreaming our panel live! See you then!
