I know most of us on the East Coast are busy battening down the hatches for the approaching hurricane (parenting code for “mixing the cocktails”) — but as I was glued to the Weather Channel this week watching the march to Irene, I couldn’t help wondering if Mother Nature is trying to use a few parenting tricks to send a message to Capitol Hill?
